Security Industry Association is calling on professionals and students to submit applications for the 2025 RISE Scholarship, which aims to advance their education and career progress.
Through this program, recipients will receive awards of $3,000 to cover continuing education, repayment of student loans and fees for training and certification courses.
“This impactful program empowers emerging leaders, young professionals and those new to our industry the opportunity to propel their professional development, hone their knowledge and thrive in their security careers,” says SIA CEO Don Erickson in an announcement.
Erickson notes these awards allow winners to attend major industry gatherings, enroll in SIA’s certification programs and reduce student debt. He says the awards help recipients access key training and certifications and lower their student loan balances. He adds the association is proud to support each recipient as they reach for career milestones.
Organizers set up the RISE Scholarship to give participants greater insight in key areas such as business, human resources, information technology, marketing and sales, project management, security engineering and risk management.
Applicants may allocate funds to:
• SIA offerings, including conferences, training and certifications
• Loan repayment
• Other industry education or events
• Relevant courses or programs offered by associations, colleges, universities and private education firms
One scholarship has been named in honor of Pierre Trapanese, CEO and owner of Northland Controls and past chairman of the SIA board of directors.
Eligible candidates include SIA student members and staff of SIA member firms across North America who belong to SIA’s RISE community. Applications must arrive by Friday, Sept. 5.
