The annual Security Solutions Awards honors manufacturers and vendors whose electronic security offerings have shown real-world effectiveness in meeting security, safety or other organizational requirements for end users.
This marks the program’s 2025 cycle. Organizers assess products based on field performance, reliability and ease of use. Nominations arrive from system integrators, end users and manufacturers. An independent panel reviews entries using real-world data, user surveys and on-site performance tests. Judges look for offerings that deliver measurable improvements in incident response times, reduce manual workloads or strengthen reporting to satisfy regulatory obligations. Finalists are selected in early spring, and winners are revealed at an annual industry awards event in May.
The 2025 Winner Spotlight has so far highlighted Telguard for fire and life safety, Resideo for home controls, System Surveyor for excellence in security apps and Haivision for security monitoring.
This Winner Spotlight series explores how each provider’s solution holds up in live settings, including detailed case analyses and feedback from end users.
The next Winner Spotlight will feature the specialty category winner.
Security Pros, a Midwest security systems integrator founded in 2009, set out to expand its post-installation care programs. The firm’s mission has been to deliver high-value, long-term support and service after a system goes live. In the beginning, its maintenance plans responded to client service requests only after an issue had occurred. The team then moved to proactive maintenance, manually reviewing each camera by logging into devices or making site visits to confirm proper operation. As their client base grew to include enterprise and multi-site accounts across the country, that hands-on approach became unsustainable.
Security Pros set five primary goals:
- Increase operational efficiency: Automate thousands of hours spent on manual camera view checks and system-status validations without sacrificing service quality.
- Improve the customer experience: Detect and address issues before clients notice, giving them peace of mind and building trust.
- Scale service nationwide: Maintain consistent standards for both small and large deployments, regardless of location.
- Meet compliance and auditing requirements: Provide documented performance metrics for regulatory and contractual needs.
- Generate recurring revenue: Add a value-added service that yields monthly income.
To achieve these goals, Security Pros needed a solution that would work across a variety of environments, including mixed-vendor systems, large outdoor deployments in parks and public spaces, and enterprise installations with hundreds of devices. They were looking for:
- A software-driven tool that automatically discovers and onboards new devices as customers expand.
- Real-time alerts for hardware that needs maintenance.
- Flexible alert routing that fits into existing ticketing systems and reduces duplicate messages.
- A unified dashboard displaying every security device across an organization.
- A product that generates monthly revenue when bundled into service agreements.
Ai-RGUS was chosen to meet these needs. By embedding Ai-RGUS into its ProCare plans, Security Pros flipped from reactive fixes to proactive system oversight. Today, every client deployment for Security Pros runs on Ai-RGUS, covering hardware from all major manufacturers. A single operator can monitor the dashboard to spot risks, vulnerabilities and threats. This capability has become a key competitive edge. Their leadership stated, “We don’t just want to change service for our customers, we want to change the whole industry. Ai-RGUS is a big part of the answer.”
Ai-RGUS is an AI-based software platform for security systems that identifies vulnerabilities and automates resolution. It began as an internal tool at Duke University and was built for system integrators to deliver efficient, profitable and proactive maintenance programs.
Ai-RGUS addresses Security Pros’ objectives:
- Operational efficiency: The software uses AI to track every connected device—cameras, access control, speakers, power supplies and other hardware—across leading brands. Advanced computer vision checks each camera feed for blur, blockages, tilt, glare and low-light issues. “I’ve had several customers tell me thank you… it gives them reassurance that we’re watching for them, not just when there’s a problem.”
- Customer experience: By pinpointing operational and cybersecurity issues at the source, Ai-RGUS sends precise alerts and cuts out duplicate notifications. Alerts feed into existing ticketing systems to streamline maintenance and boost client confidence. “We were very manual…going through each one of those cameras. Ai-RGUS automated that and made our client experience much better.”
- Nationwide scale: As a cloud-only, software-driven tool, Ai-RGUS links to hardware from top vendors and automates tedious tasks without extra hardware. Security Pros now handles thousands of devices across multiple locations with a single dashboard. “Customers kept asking us to do more in more geographic areas… Ai-RGUS is a big part of that answer.”
- Compliance and auditing: Ai-RGUS offers a unified view of performance metrics for the entire security infrastructure. Users can generate reports on uptime, recording status and data retention to satisfy both internal and external standards.
- Recurring revenue: Security Pros now offers a maintenance plan that is both profitable and reliable, supplying a stable source of monthly recurring revenue and giving clients ongoing assurance.
By unifying visibility across every device, Ai-RGUS supports a proactive security model that reduces downtime, records compliance metrics and keeps systems running as designed.
Ai-RGUS delivered exactly what Security Pros needed: efficiency, proactive care, scalability and compliance, and it has helped the integrator set a new benchmark for service after installation.
One team member said, “We wouldn’t be able to provide the same level of care to customers at local branches and nationwide without Ai RGUS.”
