The Security Solutions Awards program honors manufacturers and vendors whose electronic security offerings have proven their value under live conditions. Midway through the 2025 cycle, System Surveyor received an award in the security applications category, joining Telguard in fire and life safety and Resideo in home controls among the first half honorees.
The annual event focuses on solutions that fulfill practical requirements for safety, security, or organizational needs. Judges evaluate installations completed in the field, looking for technology that addresses challenges faced by end users across a variety of settings.
This year’s security monitoring award went to Cobb County Police Department’s Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC). The agency set out to establish a single command location to boost situational awareness, sharpen response times, and strengthen coordination with neighboring law enforcement units.
Initial planning began with a series of collaborative meetings involving county leadership, technology vendors, first responders, and emergency management representatives. Over the eighteen-month implementation period, teams worked through site design, equipment testing, user training, and system commissioning. Planners defined core requirements for a flexible floor plan, workspace clusters for analysts, an elevated platform for incident command personnel, and a resilient video wall system at the center of the operations floor.
After evaluating several options, Cobb County selected Haivision based on its track record in mission-critical deployments and compatibility with existing network infrastructure. Haivision’s video wall solution delivered a unified, real-time display for multiple inputs, including live feeds from local broadcast outlets, Flock license plate reader networks, and Fusus intelligence alerts.
Operators gained the ability to pin critical notifications and freeze-frame images of suspect vehicles on the main display. Those functions provided a shared reference point for analysts, dispatchers, and command staff throughout each shift.
The RTCC was built around an open architecture model that supports multiagency teaming. By serving as a regional hub, the center gives six law enforcement organizations shared access to sensor data and video resources. Civilian analysts handle routine monitoring tasks, freeing sworn officers for field duties. Decentralized connections through Fusus enable remote personnel to tap into live streams and incident feeds.
Public outreach has been a pillar of the project. Cobb County has hosted guided tours for civic leaders, community groups, and media, showing how data fusion and video analytics can aid proactive policing. Those events have helped boost transparency and solidify citizen confidence in the department’s technology investments.
Performance metrics since the RTCC’s launch have tracked improvements across multiple areas. Officers now access live body-worn and in-car camera videos before heading out on calls. Dispatch volumes have fallen as teams rely on real-time data to validate incidents. Investigations move ahead faster when leads emerge directly from sensor alerts.
“Haivision has been a great partner, providing us with an intuitive solution that maximizes our potential, safeguarding our community and officers, which is especially crucial amid staffing shortages,” says Captain Darin Hull.
Haivision Command 360 combines dedicated hardware and custom software in a purpose-built package. The platform gives public safety users, defense organizations, and private enterprises a centralized interface for monitoring live events and coordinating responses in high-stakes environments.
Under the hood, the system scales to handle dozens of simultaneous video streams and data channels. A centralized management layer simplifies device control, software updates, and user permissions. Native connectors and open APIs let administrators plug in third-party sensors, analytics engines, and emergency notification tools.
For Cobb County, the goal was clear: build an RTCC that synthesizes feeds from license plate readers, CCTV networks, incident alerts, and news broadcasts into a single operational view.
Haivision Command 360 answered that requirement, powering a dynamic video wall with configurable layouts. Analysts and command staff can customize screens and shift content to focus on high-priority feeds during evolving situations.
At any moment, operators can drag and drop windows for live streams from Flock, ongoing Fusus alerts, or other mission-critical sources. That shared workspace helps every person in the command center see the same priority items.
When multiple agencies mobilize around a major incident, the command center’s visual grid serves as the operational backbone. Partners log in remotely, view shared streams, and contribute real-time updates that feed directly into the wall’s display.
Rapid reconfiguration keeps information relevant when priorities shift. Analysts can resize or replace content panes on the fly, ensuring the command post remains aligned with on-the-ground developments.
The expanded RTCC network built around Command 360 has produced measurable gains: lower response intervals, a drop in redundant dispatches, and faster case closures thanks to immediate access to key data points.
Haivision Command 360 helps Cobb County deliver faster responses, stronger officer safety, and heightened community confidence through its unified, real-time video wall platform.
